Indiana has one of the strictest overall length restrictions in the nation. Many states allow up to 70 feet of length, and most states permit as much as 65 feet. The maximum length of trailers attached to pick-up trucks is 28-feet 6-inches.

Permits for transporting oversize loads in Indiana are issued by the Indiana Department of Revenue. Loads that are more than 10-feet wide can travel between ½-hour before sunrise until noon on Saturdays. Permits are valid for up to two weeks after issuance.
