The dimensional restrictions in the state of Ohio include:

Maximum weight: 80,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW);

Maximum height: 13 feet 6 inches;

Maximum width: 8 feet 6 inches.

As part of the northeastern transportation corridor, Ohio allows tractor-trailers to be longer than most states. In Ohio, 75-foot combination trailers are permitted to operate. Loads that are more than 90-feet long require escort vehicles. Length restrictions on trailers and motor homes are on par with rules in the rest of the country.

Oversize transport permits in Indiana are issued by the Department of Transportation. The shipping of oversize loads is permitted from ½- hour before sunrise to ½-hour after sunset, Monday through Saturday. No oversize transports are allowed on major holidays, including Easter Friday and the entire weekend.

Oversize loads that are 10-feet in width or more, or exceed length limits, require 7-foot wide signs with 18-inch letters posted in the front and back. The maximum allowable limits for oversized loads in Ohio are:

Maximum Length: 160 feet total;

Maximum Height: 14 feet 6 inches;

Maximum Width: 14 feet.
